Unitas Stoke-on-Trent Ltd, repairs and maintenance company for Stoke-on-Trent City Council, have reached an industry highlight by achieving 2.5 million hours accident free.
This achievement marks 22 months without a reportable accident in line with RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013) and no lost time incidents since October 2018.
Unitas? Health & Safety Manager, Chris Bourne, said: ?This really is a truly remarkable achievement, and especially in these current unusual circumstances we find ourselves working in, it shows the commitment of staff for their own and others? safety.?
?I am very proud to lead on the health and safety of such a conscientious organisation.? Mr Bourne said. ?I would like to pass on my thanks to all staff for the tremendous efforts in working professionally and looking out for each other to stay safe and accident-free for so long!?
The Safety, Health & Environment Team (SHE) celebrated 1 million hours without an accident in October 2019, citing well-trained and motivated teams and increased engagement and participation with the trade unions and employees as the driving force behind the milestone.
