Assistant Site Manager, Wes Walker was invited to give a talk to students at Solihull College & University Centre via video link.
Wes delivered his presentation to 23 students who are studying Level 3 Construction, Built Environment, providing crucial insight and understanding into what it’s like to work in this buoyant sector.
The focus of the lecture was in the following areas:
- Wes’s background and experience
- Unitas and what we do
- What is a bill of quantities, including types
- Who in the construction industry would produce and use a bill of quantities, and why it’s important
The session ended with a question-and-answer session. The students asked lots of questions which generated a great discussion regarding the construction industry, the gas industry and Wes’s own career and HNC Level 4 Qualification.

The lecture was a real success and a great way for Wes to improve on his own professional development while helping to nurture the minds of tomorrow!
