Our Tone and His Drone
Over the last few months, we’ve worked on an extensive project in Longton, where we carried out a varied programme of works on 87 bungalows, spread over 7 roads.
When beginning a project, such as this, each property is surveyed and assessed carefully for its’ individual need and requirement.
Each property was worked on individually as needed, with the scope of work involving:
- Re-roofing
- Soffits, Fascias and Guttering
- External wall insultation, silicone render and UPVC cladding
- Timer external and store door replacement
- Security lighting
- Installation of smoke detectors
- Loft insulation
- Replacement electric meter box doors
- Chimney removal
In order to facilitate all of this work, we also had to arrange scaffolding, asbestos removal, electrical and gas works and removal and re-siting of gas meter boxes, TV ariels, satellite dishes, solar panels and BT cables.
Drone Time
One of the best tools we have to both survey properties before work is carried out and capturing the results of work, is our Drone.
As a business, we’ve invested in state-of-the-art drones capable of delivering High Definition 4K images. We now have two qualified pilots; Tony Philips and Nicola Saxon. We’ve also invested in supporting technology such as Apps, weather measuring equipment and storage to ensure we get the most from our drones and the images they take.
Before we took the drones out, all residents in the seven streets we worked on and the surrounding areas were given notice and advice. We asked everyone to remain in their properties whilst we were filming, to ensure their privacy and safety.
On the day of filming we took out six members of our team. These included Site Manager Phil Lovatt and Mark Deacon, one of our Surveyors who had been involved with this programme from the beginning.
We’re delighted with the way this programme has turned out and grateful to all of the team members, sub-contractors and partners who’ve worked on the properties, along with the residents of all properties for their support and patience.
