Continuing our look at Unitas’ Apprentices for National Apprenticeship Week (#NAW23) we’re meeting Katie Ford:
Katie is 20 years old and passed her Apprenticeship with flying colours. She now works for Unitas as an Assistant Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor.
Katie first joined Unitas in October 2018 as Business Administration Apprentice and completed an NVQ Level 2. She then took on a thirty-month NVQ Level 3 Apprenticeship in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment in which she achieved a Distinction which enabled her to apply for and attain her permanent role as an Assistant SHE Advisor supporting the Health & Safety function of Unitas.
As part of Katie’s current role, she carries out Void Inspections, delivers the Health & Safety Inductions and chairs the Fire Marshal meeting, discussing Fire Marshal duties, Appointment Forms and new processes
On her experience with Unitas, Katie said, “Everyone at Unitas are so friendly and I have always felt comfortable asking for help if needed.”
